Our diasporas have talent!
MEET Africa est un programme d’appui à l’entrepreneuriat des diasporas entre l’Europe et l’Afrique lancé en 2016.
Son objectif est de favoriser l’émergence et le développement d’entreprises et la création d’emplois durables en Afrique par la mobilisation des talents et des ressources des diasporas vivant en Europe et/ou nouvellement réinstallées sur le continent africain.
MEET Africa contribue ainsi à mobiliser le potentiel entrepreneurial et d’investissement des diasporas africaines afin de contribuer au développement socio-économique de leurs pays d’origine. Le programme vise plus précisément à :
- renforcer les compétences des entrepreneur-e-s de la diaspora ;
- accroître leurs contributions à une croissance africaine inclusive et durable ;
- consolider les relations socio-économiques entre l’Afrique et l’Europe.
Le programme poursuit deux objectifs prioritaires :
- Renforcer de façon pérenne les outils et dispositifs d’appui des pays partenaires afin de mobiliser efficacement les talents et ressources des entrepreneurs issus des diasporas.
- Encourager la création ou le développement, par ces diasporas, de PME générant des impacts économiques, sociaux et environnementaux dans leurs pays d’origine.
MEET Africa se positionne donc comme un vecteur de coopération Afrique-Europe axé sur la valorisation des compétences, des réseaux et des investissements de la diaspora au service d’un tissu économique africain plus inclusif et résilient. MEET Africa est mis en œuvre dans cinq pays partenaires : Cameroun, Côte d’Ivoire, Maroc, Sénégal et Tunisie.
Depuis 2016, le programme a :
- Accompagné 222 projets d’entrepreneur-e-s et en a financé 116 à travers des dotations de développement et d’accélération.
- Renforcé les capacités des pays partenaires dans la mobilisation et l’accompagnement de l’entrepreneuriat diasporique, à travers de l’assistance technique ciblée.
- Réuni plus de 5000 personnes lors d’ateliers de renforcement de capacités, de mise en réseau et de sensibilisation à l’entrepreneuriat des diasporas.
- Développé des contenus et outils spécifiques à l’accompagnement de l’entrepreneuriat des diasporas sur le double espace Afrique-Europe.
