After providing the project's 140 winning entrepreneurs with a development grant of 10,000 euros, MEET Africa 2 is stepping up a gear and supporting its most promising projects.
Through its fund manager INCO, MEET Africa 2 awarded an acceleration grant to support 4 projects per country, following a selection phase based on the company's portfolio and a pitch session before international juries.
The grant of 30,000 euros will be supplemented by customized technical support to help entrepreneurs prepare for fund-raising.
In the spirit of European cooperation present from Phase 1 of the project (2016-2018), this endowment was opened up to entrepreneurs from the Business Ideas for Development program run by the German technical cooperation agency, Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
In all, almost one MEET Africa winner in two applied for the MEET Africa acceleration grant. 25 projects were selected: 20 for Expertise France entrepreneurs and 5 for GIZ entrepreneurs.
These winners will be at the heart of 5 unique events dedicated to diaspora entrepreneurship, to be held in Africa over the next three months: the MEET Ecosystem.
