🇲🇦 Thank you to all our partners who attended our MEET Ecosystem MAROC, which took place on April 19, 2024 at the Casablanca Technopark. The event had three main objectives: to provide information on MEET Africa initiatives in Morocco, to promote and celebrate the successes of winning entrepreneurs with presentations and awards, and to foster exchanges and partnerships between diaspora entrepreneurs, local players, institutions and financiers.
Co-organized with MeM by CGEM, the event brought together some 120 face-to-face and 45 videoconference participants from 50 organizations.
Discussions focused on support for diaspora entrepreneurs' initiatives, integration policies, financing mechanisms, and collaboration with the Moroccan ecosystem. Many key players, including government representatives, international institutions, investors and diaspora entrepreneurs, took part.
The MEET Ecosystem was also an opportunity to highlight the winners of the MEET Africa 2 program, who were awarded the Dotation 2 acceleration prize of €30,000.

The many exchanges highlighted the importance of collaborating at different levels to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem, particularly for those returning to Morocco and wishing to launch innovative initiatives here. The recommendations focus on creating synergies between the various players in the ecosystem to provide more effective support for diaspora entrepreneurs . Donors, public institutions and incubators shared their priorities for structuring programs tailored to the specific needs of the diaspora:
- The need for targeted funding that takes into account the unique obstacles faced by diaspora entrepreneurs (such as regulatory barriers and lack of access to local networks).
- The creation of policies favoring diaspora entrepreneurship through facilitation measures (such as tax breaks and simplified procedures for setting up businesses).
- The importance of providing personalized support on both shores and resources tailored to the needs of diasporas, including mentoring, access to professional networks and training adapted to local and international markets.
